GITE LA PAMPHILIENNE VOUS PROPOSE
☀️ LES IDÉES DU JOUR
🇬🇧 DAY 1 – GRANVILLE & THE NORMANDY COAST
Sunday 13 September 2026
The journey is about 45 minutes each way from Courtils.
Courtils, Manche, France
Courtils: around 14–23°C, with sunny spells.
Granville: around 20–22°C, mostly cloudy to sunny spells and little or no rain expected. The Met Office forecast gives a maximum of around 22°C for Granville today.
🚗 9:30 – Leave the gîte
Gîte La Pamphilienne, Courtils → Granville
⏱️ Approximately 45 minutes
🚘 10:15–12:30 – Classic cars in Granville
Head towards Boulevard Vaufleury / Aquarium area.
Today is the monthly meeting of the Automobile Club de Granville, with classic and exceptional cars. It is free to visit and takes place from 10:00 to 12:30.
Then take a stroll through Granville’s old town (Haute-Ville) and enjoy the spectacular views over the sea.
🍴 12:45 – Lunch in Granville
Three good options to consider:
- Le Bistro de la Gare – relaxed and convenient.
- La Citadelle – good choice for a meal with a sea/coastal atmosphere.
- L’Edulis – for something a little more gastronomic.
🌊 14:30 – Explore Granville
Walk around the Haute-Ville, the harbour and the seafront.
The old town is particularly enjoyable for British visitors because of its medieval streets, ramparts and views across the Channel.
Allow about 1½–2 hours.
🎺 16:30 – Fanfares à l’Ouest
This is the special bonus for today!
Granville is hosting “Fanfares à l’Ouest”, a festival bringing together five visiting brass bands. The festival runs on 12–13 September, with the Sunday programme planned around midday at Hérel beach, weather permitting.
🚗 18:00–18:45 – Return to Courtils
Granville → Gîte La Pamphilienne
⏱️ Approximately 45 minutes
🌤️ Today’s weather
Courtils: around 14–23°C, with sunny spells and warm conditions.
The general forecast for the Manche/Normandy coast is also favourable, with little or no rain expected.
Granville: a good day for walking by the sea, but I would recommend a light jacket, especially near the coast.
